Cookie policy
The short version: this site sets no tracking cookies at all. One item of local storage remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every page.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and hands back on the next visit. Local storage does a similar job but stays in the browser rather than travelling with every request. Both are covered in the UK by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), alongside the UK GDPR.
PECR requires consent for anything that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Strictly necessary items may be set without consent.
2. What this website actually stores

That is the complete list. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising or remarketing pixels, no social media buttons that phone home, and no session cookies, because the site has no logins or shopping basket.
3. Choosing "Accept optional"
The notice offers an optional category so that the choice is genuine and recorded. At the time of writing we run no optional cookies whatsoever, so accepting them changes nothing about what is stored. If we ever add measurement tools, they will only load for visitors who have accepted, and this page will be updated first with the name, provider and purpose of each one.
4. Third-party requests this site makes
Two external resources are loaded so the site renders correctly. Neither sets cookies on our behalf, but both necessarily see your IP address as part of serving a file, as any web request does:
- fonts.bunny.net — the web fonts used for headings and body text. Bunny Fonts is a privacy-oriented font service that states it sets no cookies and logs no personal data.
- cdn.jsdelivr.net — a small open-source CSS reset file.
If you would rather not make those requests at all, a content blocker will stop them; the site remains readable and fully usable, with the browser's default fonts.
5. Changing or clearing your choice
To bring the notice back, clear site data for this domain in your browser:
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data and permissions.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Blocking local storage entirely is fine here. The only consequence is that the cookie notice appears on each visit, because we have nowhere to record that you closed it.
6. Server logs
Separately from anything stored in your browser, our web server keeps standard access logs for 30 days for security and fault diagnosis. These are covered in our privacy statement.
